Charging speed on iPhone 12 series doubled after updating iOS 17.4
According to Macworld, Apple has quietly upgraded the magnetic charging feature on iPhone 12 to the Qi2 standard. Previously, this standard was only equipped for the iPhone 15 series, then expanded to iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 through the iOS 17.2 update last December, and is now available to iPhone 12 users.

What is the Qi2 standard?
Qi2 is the next generation wireless charging standard, released by the Wireless Power Consortium.
MagSafe offers two benefits over other wireless chargers: a magnetic connection to the phone, to precisely position the phone against the charging coil, and faster charging speeds of 15 W. Qi2 offers benefits Same goes for other chargers, which usually cost a little less because Apple certification isn't required.
With the Qi2 standard, you can wirelessly charge your iPhone at speeds of up to 15 W, even if it's not MagSafe compatible. Of course, to take advantage of faster charging speeds, you need the following:
– Update iPhone 12 to iOS 17.4 version
– Wireless charger supports Qi2 standard
Macworld tried using the Apple MagSafe charger to charge the iPhone 12 Pro Max from 0-30% in 38 minutes, and up to 50% in 70 minutes. However, if using the Anker Qi2 MagGo wireless charger, charging time was reduced to 33 minutes and 64 minutes respectively.
