New design identity for Samsung Electronics in 2030 – Samsung Newsroom Vietnam

Developing and introducing products to the market is always an exciting journey. Every time I face this challenge, I wonder if the new product can impress customers — perhaps this will even become a game-changer and impact lives in a major way. meaning.

If we take a closer look at the product development process, design lets cutting-edge technologies shine while technology turns design dreams into reality. Only when design and technology come together can we develop a product that brings true value to users. Samsung Electronics achieves a remarkable harmony between design and advanced technology, and we constantly strive to create products that blend seamlessly into the lives of our customers.

To achieve this goal, we have redefined our design philosophy as 2030 approaches. “Samsung Design Identity 5.0 (DI 5.0): Essential ∙ Creative ∙ Harmony”(first) is a new direction that shapes a future that we hope to bring to users.

Samsung's design philosophy and development process

More than 1,500 designers work across Samsung's seven global design studios to solve everyday problems faced by a variety of customers, each from a different culture or background with different interests and markets. private filial piety. At the heart of this effort is Samsung's design philosophy – “Inspired by people, creating the future” – which, since its inception in 1996, has remained unchanged.

But the way people live and experience their lives is constantly changing, and we've had to refine and evolve our design identity to reflect that. “Samsung Design Identity 5.0: Essential∙Innovative∙Harmonious” is the vision that will guide us through 2030. Going forward, we will continue to introduce smartphones, TVs, refrigerators and Other products reflect this new thinking.

Essential∙Creativity∙Harmony. What is the meaning behind these elements?

Essential design focus on the original intent and purpose of the product — to provide the most optimal user experience without any unnecessary elements. This year, the latest Galaxy S24 series allows users to intuitively experience the functions of a mobile device with a unified interface and thin bezels. Our Infinity Air Design TV models appear to float in mid-air, delivering a more immersive screen experience. On the other hand, our multi-function washer dryer optimizes space utilization through a minimalist design interface.

Creative design bringing valuable change — not merely novelty — to customers' lives. For example, the TV automatically upgrades low-resolution images to 8K using AI technology; AI-based robot vacuum cleaners automatically recognize floor types, objects, and living spaces for optimal cleaning; and the Live Interpreter feature helps smartphone users overcome language barriers through real-time translation capabilities. These products all apply creativity to technological innovations.

Harmonious design Expressing the desire to integrate products and people with society, the environment and other human values. SmartThings improves convenience by integrating and connecting products for users to control remotely. Meanwhile, Music Frame, a speaker with a customizable photo frame shape, blends into any interior space. Designs that create harmony between products and customers' daily lives — rather than designs that declare their existence — are the design identity we will continue to pursue.

A future with limitless potential

At Samsung, this is our commitment — to stay true to our essential purpose, to constantly innovate and create designs that harmonize with our users' lives. We aim to empower customers globally and diversify their lives by providing meaningful experiences, no matter the Samsung product.
