Samsung Electronics operates ‘C Lab Exhibition Hall’ at ‘CES 2024’ 23 C Lab startups receive ‘CES Innovation Award’ – Samsung Newsroom Korea

Samsung Electronics will announce to the world the innovative technologies of in-house ventures and external startups fostered by C-Lab at 'CES 2024', the world's largest home appliance exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA from January 9 to 12 next year.

Samsung Electronics will set up the 'C Lab Exhibition Hall' at 'Eureka Park', a startup exhibition hall within the 'Venetian Expo' in Las Vegas, and showcase 15 projects and startups, the largest ever.

The 15 companies exhibiting include 10 startups fostered through 'C Lab Outside', a program for external startups, 3 startups spun off from in-house ventures, and 'C Lab Inside', an in-house venture program for executives and employees. 2, etc.

This year's CES is expected to have more than 1,000 startups participating and more than 130,000 visitors, including companies, corporate officials, investors, and media from around the world.

Through this CES, C Lab startups can expect to check the global market response, develop sales channels, attract new investments, and create opportunities for business cooperation.

'C Lab Outside' is a startup development program established by Samsung Electronics in 2018 to contribute to revitalizing the domestic startup ecosystem by expanding the operating know-how of the in-house venture program to outside the company.

Startups selected for 'C Lab Outside' are provided with full support, including business subsidies and customized training programs, as well as exploring business cooperation plans with Samsung Electronics and attracting investments.

'Dr.Tail', a veterinary remote consultation service startup exhibiting at the C Lab Pavilion this time, collaborated with Samsung Electronics and achieved the result of having the Dr.Tail service installed on Samsung Smart TVs that will be released in the United States starting in 2024.

Seongwan Lee, CEO of ‘GhostPass’, who was selected as ‘C Lab Outside Gwangju’ this year and participated in CES, said, “Thanks to the support of Samsung Electronics C Lab, we also won the CES Innovation Award and participated in the most notable C Lab exhibition hall at Eureka Park. “I’m really looking forward to doing this,” he said. “I think we can take this CES as an opportunity to take a step closer to entering the global market.”

Samsung Electronics has introduced the C-Lab spin-off system since 2016 and has been supporting startups to become independent for 'C-Lab Inside' tasks that are judged to have higher business feasibility from the outside. In addition, even after the spin-off, we continue to maintain a cooperative system and help the company grow.

At this CES 2024, three startups from C-Lab Inside will participate in the C-Lab exhibition hall and showcase their excellent technology.

At the 'CES 2024 Innovation Awards' announced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), C Lab startups won one Best Innovation Award and 22 Innovation Awards, proving their technological prowess and innovation on the global stage.

Samsung Electronics is sharing its know-how in winning the CES Innovation Award with C Lab startups, helping many startups win the CES Innovation Award and enter the global market.

At this CES 2024, 18 ‘C Lab Outside’ startups and 5 independent startups from ‘C Lab Inside’ won 5 awards, including the Best Innovation Award.

In particular, 'Studio Lab', a startup that spun off in 2021, won the Best Innovation Award, and 'DeepX' and 'Yelosis', participating in the C Lab exhibition hall this time, won innovation awards in three categories each.

Samsung Electronics has fostered a total of 872 internal ventures and startups (397 internal and 475 external) through C-Lab.

In particular, the cumulative investment amount of 537 C-Lab startups (62 spin-offs and 475 outsiders) amounts to 1.4 trillion won.
